Eastern Point

Originally conceived by the renowned Boston architect Samuel Dudley Kelley in 1893, this expansive shingle-style residence located on Eastern Point underwent a series of subsequent additions throughout its history. Regrettably, these additions failed to harmonize with the overall architectural integrity of the house and, in some instances, deviated from its original character.

The current occupants harbored a desire to embark on a comprehensive renovation project. Their objectives encompassed the restoration of deteriorated portions of the house, a reconfiguration of all existing spaces to align with their living needs, and the introduction of new additions that would enhance the overall layout, circulation, and daylighting. Notably, they aimed to augment the house’s external architectural allure by skillfully incorporating the original detailing to seamlessly unite the new and pre-existing additions.
